Jawaharlal Nehru was the first Prime Minister of free India and an architect of modern India. Jawaharlal Nehru was a world statesman. He established democracy in the country. He founded Non-Alignment Movement of Panchseel together with Col. Nasser of Egypt and Marshal Tito of Yugoslavia.

Nehru was imprisoned frequently by Britishers during India’s freedom struggle and spent almost 17 years in jail. He loved children and thus was called ‘Chacha Nehru’. His B-day is celebrated as °Children’ Day’ every year. His most famous books are Discovery of India, Autobiography, Glimpses of world history etc. India’s this invaluable gem was honoured ‘Bharat Ratna’ in 1955. He left for heaven on 27th May 1964.
